What it is
NAD+ is not a drug in the usual sense — it is a coenzyme your mitochondria already depend on to convert food into ATP, and it is consumed by DNA repair and other maintenance work. Its concentration falls measurably with age. Rather than a precursor you have to convert, this supplies it directly. Compounded, and not FDA-approved.
How it is used
A small subcutaneous injection, usually once a week. Given quickly it can cause flushing, a tight chest or nausea — which is why the rate matters and why your provider tells you how to give it slowly. Most people notice nothing dramatic; this is maintenance, not a stimulant.
What to discuss with your provider
Tell your provider about any liver or kidney disease, current or past cancer, pregnancy or plans for it, and every medication and supplement you take. Mention if you have reacted badly to intravenous infusions before.
