What it is
GLP-1 is a hormone your gut already produces after you eat. It tells your brain you have had enough. Semaglutide acts on the same receptor, which is why appetite quietens and smaller portions start to feel like enough. The preparation we work with is compounded — made for one patient at a time by a licensed U.S. pharmacy, and not a copy of any FDA-approved product.
How it is used
A small subcutaneous injection, usually once a week, on the same day each week. Your provider sets the starting dose and raises it in steps — slowly, because most early side effects come from moving too fast. Nausea in the first weeks is common and usually settles. Your provider tells you what to expect and when to call.
What to discuss with your provider
Tell them about any personal or family history of thyroid cancer or endocrine tumours, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease or gastrointestinal conditions, and about pregnancy or plans for it. Mention every medication you take, including insulin or other diabetes medicines. This is what the intake asks, and it is why not everyone qualifies.
